For which target group is GitLab suitable?
The app can be used by anyone who produces code. GitLab can also be used for other types of projects where teams work together, be it administrative or marketing projects. However, it is mainly used by companies and occasionally by start-ups.

Who can I contact if I have problems or questions?

You can get help with GitLab at any time via nws@netways.de. For general questions regarding the settings, we recommend the forum and the GitLab documentation.

Where can I find my login details?
The user name and URL are provided in the Access tab. You must set your GitLab password for the root user when you log in for the first time.

What does GitLab contain?

This includes the repositories you have created and the configuration of the GitLab instance. Backups are carried out as part of an "RBD snapshot", as the app data is stored in our own ceph storage. Creating a backup does not cause any downtime, it happens every night. Backups are kept for 1 day. The storage saves the configuration of the application and all repositories you have created. You can import a backup at any time. You need a written request for this. The duration is individual. Depending on the urgency, the request will be processed either on the same day or during the current week.

How do updates work?
We update GitLab on a regular basis. We first check and test new versions that contradict our range of functions and build them accordingly; this also applies to new functions from us. Before we carry out an update, you will receive an email with corresponding instructions. In exceptional cases, this e-mail may be sent a few hours in advance. Exceptions would be, for example, the import of necessary security updates.

You can cancel GitLab either monthly or annually in the contract overview under "Manage Contract".
